Labuan IBFC Inc Signs Up To CCB’s Match Plus Platform

The global platform will allow Labuan IBFC access to 200,000 registered enterprises, originating from more than 50 countries

Labuan International Business and Financial Centre Incorporated Sdn Bhd (Labuan IBFC), the official marketing agency for the Labuan International Business and Financial Centre, participated in a signing ceremony to join China Construction Bank (CCB)’s Match Plus platform. The event was graced by Ms Zhang Peidong, Minister Counsellor of the Economic and Commercial Office, Malaysian Embassy of the People’s Republic of China; Mr Nik Mohamed Din bin Nik Musa, the Director General of Labuan Financial Services Authority; Ms Soon Jianbo, the General Manager of International Department, China Construction Bank Corporation; and Mr Wang Qijie, Principal Officer of China Construction Bank Corporation Labuan Branch.

Labuan IBFC’s participation in the CCB Match Plus platform is part of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Agreement, which boasts the participation of more than 15 Asia-Pacific countries. This key trade agreement aims to promote cross-border transactions including financial services and boost economic integration between member RCEP countries.
 
CCB Match Plus is a one-stop matchmaking service platform which allows enterprises to source for financial resources, projects, suppliers and list of products and services internationally. With its participation, Labuan IBFC will be the first international domicile registered in the platform, with a dedicated page developed especially for the jurisdiction.

Commenting after the signing ceremony, Datuk Iskandar Mohd Nuli, Executive Chairman of Labuan IBFC said, “Labuan IBFC is confident that our readily available structures and suite of solutions encompassing financial services, risk and wealth management, as well as progressive tax and regulatory frameworks will be more than sufficient to meet the requirements of member parties on the CCB Match Plus platform. We are also positive that our progressive product knowledge and adaptability will put us in a good position to serve the Chinese and global markets.” Datuk Iskandar further expressed his gratitude to China Construction Bank Corporation for enabling this strategic partnership.
 
Ms Soon Jianbo, General Manager of International Department, China Construction Bank Corporation commented, “China Construction Bank has taken the lead in launching the B2B cross-border intelligent matchmaking platform CCB Match Plus to provide cross-border trade and investment opportunities, intelligent and accurate matching and integrated financial services solutions for domestic and foreign enterprises. It is also our pleasure to note that today’s signing was carried out live on the platform.” Ms Soon further elaborated, “CCB Malaysia looks forward to deepening our collaboration with the Labuan jurisdiction in all aspects to promote economic, trade exchanges and sustainable development between China and Malaysia.”

The event also marked another milestone for Labuan IBFC, whereby the audience also witnessed the signing of eight new businesses that will establish a base in the Labuan jurisdiction.
 
As Malaysia’s international business and financial centre, Labuan IBFC is currently houses and supports more than 880 licensed institutions and more than 17,000 companies. These include international organisations in banking, leasing, capital markets, insurance, reinsurance, risk management and wealth management.
