Dear Friends of Labuan,

As we enter the 4th quarter of the year, I know most of us are thankful for the blessing of health, family and loved ones this year, more than ever. A lot of us are rethinking our lives, what it truly means to be alive, and our contribution to society but for me personally, 2020 will be the year we were blessed with a true appreciation of the resilient face of humanity and its compassion.

And with resilience comes strength, especially when pockets of opportunity are identified.

For Labuan IBFC, such a pocket is self-insurance. As we continue to endure the challenges 2020 has brought, and I believe 2021 will continue to bring - the area of self-insurance has seen growth and strength. Our note in this edition, discusses growth in this sector in the 1st half of 2020, and how the profile of the market has changed as well. We hope you find this snapshot beneficial.
